We have an exciting position for a Supervisor Dispatch who will be responsible to maintain the Fleet Management System infrastructure, which supports the hauling of iron ore and waste in accordance with a Dispatch optimized schedule to ensure the correct volume, quality, distance and cycle times.

Kumba Iron Ore
We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.
We are currently seeking to employ a Supervisor Dispatch to join our Kumba Iron Ore family at our Sishen Operation. This is a key role within the Mining Team where you will be responsible to:
Perform monitoring, control and maintenance of WIFI network which is critical for MMS Dispatch and other mining systems
Install and configure on-board computers, mostly PTX type PCs with Windows CE
Setup Interfaces to third-party systems
Perform complex diagnosis/trouble shooting and/ or where independent decision making is critical
High level maintenance, installation and testing of sophisticated equipment and machinery
Perform of pro-active inspection and fault finding as part of preventative maintenance
Be able to handle operational problems and do trouble shooting
Ensure work ethics is of such a nature that workers continuously strive towards improving their own performance.
Manage a safe and healthy work environment where workers and contractor can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
This role is in the Mining Department at a Band 6 level reporting tothe Section Manager MIOC
You will need the following:
National Diploma in Engineering (Light Current or Digital Electronics) (S4 or B.Tech. degree)
3-5 years relevant experience as a Master Technician in the field
Computer Literacy, MS Office. Dispatch system (Modular) SAP
Knowledge of Health Mine and Safety act
Valid driver’s license
Programmable Integrated Circuits (PIC) or other imbedded circuit experience advantageous
Project Management advantageous
HME (Heavy Mining Equipment) experience Advantageous
