Job Description
An opportunity has become available for a technical expert to take on the challenging role of Production Manager with our Entyce Beverages team. The successful Production Manager will lead and support the production and packaging teams in order to meet customer requirements and ensure that world-class products coupled with quality targets are achieved in the most cost-effective manner. This role is based in Isando and reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

Duties:

Effectively empower and develop staff through goal setting and performance management in order to enable them to contribute effectively and make the right decisions
Ensuring high efficiency, excellent quality and low waste
Ensure optimal production through effective liaison with all other support functions
Manage and ensure cost-effective labour usage in accordance with MANMAPS
Analyzing and resolving production and packaging history in order to minimise the potential risk
Ensure that operating specifications are in place and are achievable (correctly implemented)
Recruit the right talent and identify for development
Implementation of the correct business strategies
Effectively manage the operational budget and cost-effectiveness
Ensure implementation and adherence to SHEQ; QMS and food safety
Drive and manage planned maintenance in the production area

Experience Required:

A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the production environment of which at least 3 years in a Production Management capacity
Experience in a managerial role is essential
At least 2 years’ packaging related experience required

Qualifications Required:

A completed qualification (N.Dip / B.Tech / B.Eng / B.Sc) in Chemical – or Industrial Engineering or Production/Operations Management
A packaging qualification will be advantageous

Additional Requirements:

Packing and utilities (boiler) care experience
Experience in spray drying and evaporator advantageous
Understanding Process Flow Management information systems such as Wonderware or Shopware or Scada
Experience in SAP Manufacturing and HR mandatory
Exposure to AIB / GMP’s and FSSC systems
LRA knowledge; experience in people management and IR related matters, including chairing of hearings
OHSAS 18000 or related safety system will be an added advantage
Lean Manufacturing Principles
Formulating policies and procedures
SOP’s; Work Instructions and OPL’s formalising and training
