Role Context

The Certified International Specialist will need to ensure the implementation, compliance and effectiveness of DHL’s Quality Management System and according ISO requirements as well as maintaining and administering quality-related activities to support our continued certification leading to customer loyalty and satisfaction.

 

Key responsibilities

 

Act as liaison for the Company in matters concerning third party audits, assessments, site visits etc to ensure that the Company is adequately represented and decisions are taken in line with Company objectives and goals.
Maintain, co-ordinate and improve the efficiency of Quality Management System that meets the requirements of ISO and provides an assurance of ‘Quality Service’ for our customers.
Support the departments to prepare for internal and external audits. Ensure that the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standards are understood and met and staff comply with these requirements as well as own work instructions / processes.
Receive staff comments / suggestions; assign issue to the appropriate function. Ensure and carry out regularly follow ups on open actions, Root Cause analysis and sustainability of implemented improvements
Ensure regular feedback of audit findings to all major stakeholders including Senior Management Team
Ensure that the relevant system being used is operated effectively and updated in line with any local or legal requirements and meet regional requirements.
Ensure that effective operation of the quality management systems, the quality training materials are available, regularly updated and in use
Line managers/supervisors deliver training on respective working systems
Plan and implement an overall audit program, co-ordinate and conduct regular internal quality audits in all departments within the organisation as well as key external suppliers to determine the continued effectiveness/improvement of the QMS and supplier’s continued ability to meet our requirements.
Prepare, review, maintain and update all Quality related information to ensure the continued adequacy and relevance to ISO requirements and Company objectives.
Manages DHL Express South Africa’s quality management systems so that it is in line with the published and applied quality Standards.
Controls the preparation, adherence to, and maintenance of quality procedures.
Controls the effective central co-ordination of corrective and preventive actions.
Ensures that the assigned DHL employees perform local and internal quality audits on time and effectively.
Develop and facilitate training modules on Quality to create the necessary awareness and empowerment for all staff.
Organise and co-ordinate the development of other Quality team members (Quality Auditors and Local Quality Representatives) to ensure a well-equipped support team
Plan and facilitate quality awareness sessions within the business to improve overall knowledge and ensure compliance

Minimum Requirements

Education & experience

University Degree or equivalent
Certified Quality Assurance Auditor
ISO 9001 lead auditor
Minimum of 3 years’ experience within DHL, in the area of Quality and Information Security (ISO) will be advantageous
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the MNC industry
Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
Thorough experience with Quality Management Systems implementation, maintenance, auditing and compliance
Thorough knowledge of quality assurance,  methodology and practice (ISO 9011 training)
Good knowledge of DHL operations, Network Security Standards and best business practices
