About (Information Security and Governance)

The Information Security and Governance function within the Discovery Group aims to provide assurance that the organisation’s information assets are adequately protected against threats on a continual basis. This is achieved by finding the right balance of information security and business freedom.

 

Key Purpose

Discovery’s Group Chief Information Security Officer is looking to recruit an Assistant who will work closely with him and members of his leadership team to aid in the execution of their responsibilities. The successful applicant will be required to assist the CISO and Managers with daily administrative tasks, PA related duties, manage mostly business related tasks such as creating and collating reports, incident management and escalations, taking minutes, and other organizational tasks

 

The Professional Assistant to the CISO is entrepreneurial, well organised, practical, self-driven and passionate about technology; with strong co-ordination, problem solving and communication skills. Ultimately, contribute to the efficiency of our department by providing personalized and timely support to executive members.

 

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

Supporting the Group CISO in the execution of his responsibilities.
Strategy Support – Compiling presentations, reports and artefacts for delivery by the Group CISO to both internal and external audiences. Provide administrative support to the delivery of departmental objectives and at times act as the department relationship manager.
Administration Support – Secretariat duties for meetings, diary management, travel coordination, gift & event arrangement.
Financial and Contract Management – Reimbursement processing and queries; department payroll processing, budget tracking, contract administration.
Training Coordination – Document, track and report on department training requirements; assist with the group wide cyber awareness program.
Human Capital Management processes and other applicable processes and templates.
Working knowledge of computer packages: Windows; MS outlook; MS word; MS Excel; MS PowerPoint; MS office; MS project.
Payroll / Finance processing
Business Writing.
Proven presentation skills.
Administration.

Education and Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a secretary/PA, preferable to top management.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience in a corporate environment.
Project administration experience.
Proficient in MS Office Suite at an advanced level
Executive level assistant role / function.
Experience gained in or exposure to the Information Technology Industry
Business administration diploma or certificate
