Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based at the Distell Wellington Distillery. The successful candidate will report to the Distillery Manager.

 

Key Performance Areas include (but are not limited to)

Ensure effective Planning & Execution of Blending & Maturation Activities, including loss management
Effective variance reporting – L&M, Production Order, Bulk, etc.
Effective stock management
Ensure departmental compliance with relevant Internal Control Checklists (ICC) – Cellar, Bulk Stock and Procurement
Compile and manage annual OPEX budget for Blending & Maturation departments, including variance reporting
Responsible for Customs and Excise accounts and ICC’s
Liaise with local SARS office to ensure operational compliance with Customs & Excise requirements
Maintain a high SA Spirit Quality Index (Quality Themes)
Perform role as member of the Wellington tasting panel
Achieve Supply Chain Excellence (E² Targets)
Drive departmental savings projects pipeline
Effective leadership and development of subordinates
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills:

Matric or equivalent
Relevant tertiary qualification will be highly advantageous
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a leadership role
Sound knowledge and understanding of all Excise requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent leadership qualities
Attention to detail orientated
Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure
Organised and results driven
Must be a team player with strong networking abilities
Good problem solving ability and reconciliation skills
Advanced SAP knowledge
Punctuality and attendance reliability
