Indirect Tax Senior Manager


Market leading growth in our Indirect Tax (VAT) team has created an opportunity for a strong VAT tax professional, at Senior Manager level, to join the team. You will be able to own and lead projects, work on indirect tax technology and influence the leadership team to further develop business opportunities. You will have the opportunity to work with clients in various industries as part of a globally integrated network of specialists with high quality economics, tax authority, legal and commercial backgrounds.  The work is technically challenging, creative and requires you to work closely with our clients’ businesses.

The opportunity

This is a period of unprecedented change in the tax arena with technological innovation and regulatory change resulting in a huge demand for delivery of Indirect Tax advisory services.

Your key responsibilities

You’ll lead the successful delivery of Indirect Tax engagements, taking a professional, practical and commercial approach and ensuring technical excellence
Identify opportunities in the market and lead on developing our commercial proposition to new and existing clients
Build and maintain tax relationships with our own clients and clients referred by the rest of the EY tax practice
Responsible for high quality delivery of tax advice and solutions to major financial institutions, ensuring management of risk and reputation
Build relationships both within the firm and externally with clients, identifying opportunities and managing expectations
Win work by proactively managing existing clients and targets

To qualify for the role you will have

Strong technical Indirect Tax (VAT) experience and commercial skills with the interest to develop further
Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to understand client needs and deliver quality outputs
B. Comm (Hons), LLB or other similar degree with 5 years post articles tax experience.
Ideally, you’ll also have

Project management skills, plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
