Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
Responsible for the overall design of the solution/application and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements. The Senior Manager: Solutions Architecture works as a team member along with the GEBU Product Manager, Developer and ICT Platform Architect to ensure the delivery of a complete solution that meets all business and Enterprise customer requirements. This role is responsible for creating the technical solution architecture for Global ICT platforms and products.

The Senior Manager: Solutions Architecture will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:
Design customer centric solutions according to the strategic roadmap of the GEBU team, based on what capabilities/functionalities are currently in place, and on what must be developed to reach the desired future state.
Support of the Pre Sales functions in complex ICT & Connectivity Design programs in Pre Sales and carry through to taking Technical lead and ownership in Services execution and delivery.
Multivendor and OEM technology Skills (Cisco, Huawei etc)
Ability to design bespoke solutions across the MTN Enterprise catalogue and portfolio – UCC, Connectivity, Security, M2M etc bringing all technology solutions together into a customer centric managed services solution
Define and communicate high-level business architecture requirements to inform business use cases.
Ability to seek ICT solutions outside the MTN core catalogue so as to meet customer solutions requirements through partnership and collaboration with vendors, partners, OEMs etc
Translate the business architecture into “fit for purpose” business models (capabilities).
Ensure that the business requirements are reflected in the design and that the appropriate business and technical services are reflected in the overall architecture.
Oversee the Concept Documents received from the Portfolio Manager and craft high level solutions for all new key business requirements.
Develop the business architecture (current state and future state) considering the logical grouping of activities.
Establish the traceability of business requirements to functional Technology requirements in order to ensure the effective design of solutions/applications.
Define and maintain the architecture and frameworks associated with systems/technical requirements, standards and the technical architecture.
Ensure and drive strong integration with all relevant Technology and business stakeholders to enable the highest quality solutions architecture requirements.
Ability to drive customer architecture reviews, End to end solution reviews and articulate architecture optimization and improvements
Ownership of the Group TES Solution Review governance – pre submission technical review and sign off
Liaise with key OPCO and Group functions in the bid programs and during solution delivery.
Complex Technical Solution Delivery ownership for the Group Elevated MNC accounts – owning the Service Delivery Technical workstream working with GAMs, Global Connect, 3rd party partners, OPCOs and the Customers
Embedding into assigned MNC customer accounts for Technical lead and ownership supporting assigned Pre Sales.
Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Minimum of 4 year tertiary degree
Cisco CCIE (R&S, SP, Security etc) or equivalent
TOGAF Enterprise Architecture certification
ITIL Managing Professional certification or equivalent
MBA or Masters advantageous
Relevant Solutions Architecture certification
Fluent in English
Minimum 10 years with Managerial level experience
Minimum 5 years Solutions Architecture experience managing multiple large scale (e.g. enterprise-wide) projects
Worked across diverse cultures and geographies advantageous
Experience working in a medium to large organisation
Experience in complex technical ICT solutions delivery for large domestic and multinational customers
