Job Description
RCL FOODS is searching for a Finance Controller to join our Vector Logistics team based in Linbro Park. The purpose of the role is to provide financial support and project based support to the Regional Finance Exec, Regional Ops Execs, Financial Managers and Logistics Managers for a period of 2 months. This includes, but not limited to, loss investigations, audit compliance, consolidated analysis and investigations of Payroll related costs, Time and Attendance investigations, Balance Sheet and Income Statement reviews for 10 Business Units (BU) in Inland and detailed analysis of business processes and procedures impacting the Financial Ledger for the 10 BU’s. In addition to the above is Asset Control for the region and assistance and management of new project implementations across the region
Minimum Requirements
Bcom Accounting / Finance Degree Newly Qualified CA(SA) will be advantageous Management & Financial Accounting principles and practices SAP R3 & BW Strong Computer literacy (MS Office) Report writing skills Strong reconciliation skills Problem solving and analytical skills Preferably a Financial degree or relevant qualification 5 Years Operational Financial Accounting experience in a Logistics environment Strong leadership skills
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic planning and coordination Work in conjunction with the Regional Ops Execs, Logistics Managers, Finance Exec and Financial Manager to find opportunities for integrated Supply chain benefits Work closely with the cross functional teams to ensure the delivery of an integrated supply chain benefit. Manage ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the Regional Finance Executive or Ops Executives. Identification, investigation and control of risk and waste Daily comparison of Claims logged on the PnP and Shoprite portals vs actual Triprecon credits passed and the investigation of short Credits Escalation to Customer team, Sales teams and Ops Finance teams where these areas are identified as the source of the short credits. Assisting Hubs with Triprecon shorts/overs listing, tracking and trending of investigations thereof, working closely with Ops, Security (SSS) and PRISK (CCTV & Investigations) Daily/weekly/monthly reviews of Bestime attendance records against other records to identify: – Excessive overtime – Undertime – Absenteeism – Sick leave – tracking and trending Compile appropriate reports that highlight issues to management based on findings of all areas investigated. Identifying cost saving opportunities and drive implementation Daily and weekly report reviews from internal and external stakeholders – corrective action taken when necessary Review and analysis of 10 Balance Sheets and Income Statements monthly for imbalances, misallocations and errors. Manage and coordinate Staff Transport to reduce wasteful expenditure ad hoc reports Regional Management Assistance Act as a floating Admin Controller where depot Admin Controllers are on Annual Leave, Sick leave and Maternity/Paternity leave Document, automate transactional processes to eliminate human error and identify people / process efficiencies Assist with new business startups and/or business model changes Manage new Projects and control CAPEX from a regional perspective Assisting depots with Asset Control and maintaining consolidated registers for each site
