The AWS Network Engineer will be responsible for leading a variety of engineering activities including the design, deployment and support of cloud networking solutions. . In this role you will combine your skills of routing & switching with emerging AWS networking technologies and use automation and scripting to deliver AWS services to our growing cloud centric customer base.
Your responsibilities will include:
Plan, implement and document solutions in a complex network environment in support of new and existing cloud technology architectures.
Automate and monitor various cloud services.
Work with Development and Operations teams to automate solutions and integrate with other services/products/solutions.
To develop state of the art solutions which are technically sound.
Define, implement and document operational processes and procedures, with periodic review for efficiency and improvement
Support complex projects from inception to completion.
Work collaboratively with customers and technology teams to ensure high quality of solution delivery.
Encourage best practice and knowledge sharing with partners and cross-functional groups
Provide recommendations as they pertain to improvements in support/development initiatives and facilitate implementation with partners and cross-functional groups within the Business.
Participate in high level technical solution definition and design during the implementation phase with the goal of providing reliable, stable and operationally sound applications that meet the Business requirements.
Ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Provide level 2 and level 3 support to internal staff and top customer.
Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation supporting systems to meet SLAs.
the ideal candidate will have:
AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification.
Minimum of 5 years networking experience of which 2 years in a complex routing and switching environment and at least 1 year with a Service Provider.
Minimum Cisco CCNP certification.
Advanced experience with internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, VPN, MPLS, ISIS and/or OSPF, BGP.
Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS-XR
Understanding of AWS networks and experience implementing best practices
Knowledge of AWS technologies (Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, Virtual Private Cloud and Direct Connect).
Proficient in Linux administration
Certifications in system administration, system architecture, virtualization or cloud technologies.
Experience with VMware products
Knowledge of cloud networking architecture, cloud operations, security, automation and orchestration.
Excellent teamwork, time-management and organizational skills.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary and assigned by management
Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Understanding of IP/Telecommunications/ICT Industry
Understanding of Hosted solutions, virtual and physical
Understanding of Security technologies
Understanding of NFV (Network Function Virtualization) and the MANO architectural framework.
Understanding of SDN (Software Defined Networking) technology and the architecture.
